Cyber Crime

Representation in online fraud, hacking, and data theft cases under the IT Act.

Cyber crime cases move fast, and evidence can disappear even faster. Our cyber law practice represents both complainants and accused in matters involving online financial fraud, hacking, identity theft, and misuse of social media, working closely with cyber cells and law enforcement to secure timely action under the Information Technology Act, 2000.

We combine technical understanding of digital evidence with courtroom experience before the District Courts and Delhi High Court, helping clients recover losses, defend against wrongful accusations, and get objectionable content taken down quickly.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

What should I do immediately after falling victim to online fraud?

Report the incident on the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal (cybercrime.gov.in) or call 1930 within 24 hours to improve the chance of freezing the transferred funds. Preserve screenshots, transaction IDs, and messages, and file a formal complaint with the local cyber cell without delay.

Can I get an anonymous social media account taken down or traced?

Yes. We can send takedown requests to the platform and, where necessary, seek a court or police direction compelling the intermediary to disclose subscriber information under Section 79 read with the IT Rules, so the person behind the account can be identified and proceeded against.

Is hacking into someone's account a criminal offence even without financial loss?

Yes. Unauthorised access to a computer resource or account is punishable under Section 66 of the IT Act regardless of whether money changed hands, and can attract additional charges under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita depending on what was done with the access.

What if I have been falsely accused of a cyber offence?

We examine the digital trail — IP logs, device forensics, and account ownership records — to challenge the allegation at the investigation stage itself, and where warranted, move the Delhi High Court under Section 482 BNSS for quashing of a baseless FIR.
